Totally Geeking Out About Law and Order (Crimnal Intent and SVU)

I thought my biggest heartbreak this week was the series finale of one of my favorite TV series Law and Order Criminal Intent. Oh was I wrong, this week served me a double dose of sorrow with the news that Law and Order SVU veteran Christopher Meloni aka Detective Stabler was leaving the show (tear). Lets start with the first agonizing situation, saying
Goodbye to Law and Order CI.

Cerebral, Dark and Suspenseful are the best words to describe such a thought provoking series that reminded me of a modern day Sherlock Holmes with its intellectual plot twist, or Columbo in the way the suspects of every case seem to think they could out-smart the very quirky Det. Robert Goren(Vincent D'Onofrio) or his partner Det. Alexandra Eames (Kathryn Erbe). For the past ten years, the NYPD's Major Case Squad tackled the city's numerous homicides with only enough information to keep you informed, without giving it all away. The Very last episode aired Sunday June 26, called "To the Boy in the Blue Knit Cap",I will not spoil the ending for all who have it TiVo-ed, but with my excitement for the last show i have to say i was disappointed and a little appeased at the same time. Lets just say it was a bit of a teaser lol. This show will be missed and the past seasons will be a part of my DVD collection when ever there's nothing "good" on TV.

Goodbye Detective Stabler
Detective Stabler AKA Christopher Meloni

Unknown to me, Christopher Meloni  recently left "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" after 12 seasons on the hit show following unsuccessful deal negotiations in May. Obviously his character can not just be recast so it will be very interesting to see how the writers and Mr. Dick Wolf  write in replacement detectives Danny Pino(Cold Case) and Kelli Giddish(Chase) who were confirmed to be added to the series as regulars for the new season,NBC announced Monday.
Stabler's partner Det. Olivia Benson. (Mariska Hargitay) wont be leaving the show but her role will be scaled back after her "promotion" to a supervisory position half-way season 13(about time lol). There were rumors of Jennifer Love Hewitt to replace her but those were found to be just rumors Although I do find it funny how the Law and Order franchise "recycles" cast members like the ADA Casey Novak(Diane Neal, Seasons 5-9), well in a episode called "Ridicule"(season 3 episode 10) Her character was named Amila Chase, and she was a suspect  lol.
All in all I will still be totally geeking out about this show as long as it is on the air.

WTF, OMG A Law and Order I didn't know about???
While I was searching though my Netflix suggestions I came across this, Law and order: UK. Although I haven't seen it yet, I cant wait  :) !!!

Can I get a binky for baby Bron Bron?

Even though I was rooting for the Chicago Bulls this NBA season,

This week I am Totally Geeking Out over
             The Dallas Mavericks

The final game of the NBA season did not disappoint when it came to providing excitement, drama, and key clutch moments that proved the Dallas Mavericks to be the 2011 Champions.

Although there were defiantly a lot of lay ups, 3 pointers, and a few dunks that were phenomenal, my thirst for drama leads me to note the “skirmish” at half court Sunday night during the second quarter.

Mavs guard DeShawn Stevenson got into a small pushing match with Udonis Haslem of the Miami Heat. Now we all know these things happen in NBA games all the time, but someone told Heat guard Mario Chalmers different, because he got into the altercation for no apparent reason, as he ran to push DeShawn Stevenson from behind.
Watch the video and see for you self. (SN: thank you nbavideosnow for uploading so quickly, you rock!)

Once Chalmers entered in to the mix, both benches jumped from their seats an proceeded to the floor. Luckily some calmer players and officials split up the brawlers before any real damage was done.

SO if your like me, you might be wondering what will the punishment be for the parties involved. well according to the official NBA rule book, because it happened during a time out and not during game play like other infamous NBA brawls, there will be no suspensions because players are allowed to come off the bench during a timeout.

The Miami Heat did pick up 2 Technical Fouls and The Mavs Picked up 1 sending the finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki to the foul line to pick up his only shot for that half of the game, but not due to a lack of trying since he missed 11 shots during the first half. When asked what happened he stated  "couldn't find my groove, but my team carried me",
It was a exciting series but what i enjoyed the most ( Warning to Lebron James, D. Wade, and Heat fans...this might be hard to hear) is watching Lebron and wade who were so flashy and conceited get their just deserts and a face full of humble pie. Eat up : D

Looking for Mavs Gear, Here is a few....

The Sims and I: A Love Affair (The Sims 3 Generations Review)

This Week I Am Totally Geeking Out Over The Sims 3 Generations

Since 2000, I and many others have been incredibly fascinated and infatuated with The Sims franchise.
I believe what started this tawdry affair is the ability that we Simmers have to simply leave our own lives and either recreate them or enhance them beyond belief (with a few choice cheat codes of course )
Well now there is a new chapter in our Shakespearean love story, it’s called The Sims 3 Generations.

Although there have been many EP’s (expansion packs) that make us remember the Sims of old (i.e. Hot date, Nightlife, Late night)
I Believe there has never been one like this, a Ep that is truly about enriching the interactions between your Sims (well maybe Freetime but not to this extent)
From infant to elder, there are new objects to be had, events to be experienced and interactions to be seen. Let’s start our walk-through with the first stage in life.
 Infancy/Toddler
Here we have Strollers, although the pictures have toddlers in them you can also put newborns in them, they have a deluxe version and a cheep version :)
Bouncy Riders that the adult Sim and toddler Sim can both interact on together
These are Imaginary friend dolls, give them lots of love and attention and they will become a NC(non-controllable) Sim that only you can see
If you Master the Chemistry skill you can even make them real!

  Child/Teen
Being a child or a teen just got a whole lot more exciting!
These Outfits are not just to look good ( cue “I look good” by Charlie boy) but actually alter your children Sims behavior accordingly
The new objects are extraordinary, including a sand box, slip and slide, hopscotch and more
Oh don’t worry. I didn’t forget the Teens, A lot of new school orientated interactions have been added, like Graduations and Prom
There is a new prompt you can give your adult Sims in your household were they can take an “adult only vacation” and with the parents away the teens will play …well by play I mean throw an awesome party while their parents are gone :).
But Be aware of the time and the phone, because if your epic bash last too long or if your parents call to say they are coming home early, you are going to have to shut the party down and quickly.
There are a lot of Pranks that can be pulled, like stink bombs and placing hair dye packs in the shower. Is there a old grouch on your block well you can TP their house or put a flaming bag of poo on their door step to get even, but be warned some of Sunset Valleys finest will catch you if you are not careful.
Don’t get into too much trouble or you might get Grounded where you can’t leave the house or some objects in the household won’t be accessible to your delinquent Sims (i.e. TV, computer, stereo etc). If your teen is a real troublemaker he or she can be sent to a boarding school(note: boarding schools can also be used to increase you child’s skills so it’s not always a punishment)

Young Adult/Adult/Elder

Finally, 21 Sim days later and you are at the beginning of your adult life ( 45 days for long life spans:) )  In the Sims 3 Generations, Celebrations get a much needed face lift with bachelor/bachelorette parties and full blown Wedding ceremonies. With the new video camera object you can record the whole event. You can also replay it on your Sims TV’s.

Notice anything different in this picture, That’s right Body Hair!!
Hey You,… yes YOU!, Have all your high school friends accomplished their LTW (life time wish)? Has your spouse been having a wandering eye lately? Do you feel like an over-weight loser? You probably are, especially if your Sim answered yes to any of these questions, but don’t fret you can always have a mid life crisis you know?
Although I don’t know much about how the elders in your games will be affected by The Sims 3 Generations, I have noticed the canes, which are pretty sweet.
Also during a live chat with the Producers Of The Sims 3 Generations , One of the producers mentioned that as a social interaction, elders can pull out a wallet full or pictures of their children and grand children. Neat

Architectural/ Buy Mode
*Drooling*

That’s all the info I know, so in Closing THE SIMS IS THE BEST!!!!

There are numerous ways you can get your hands on this expansion pack, be it direct download or a physical copy, for example,
The Ea Store is doing a promotion where if you pre-order this wonderful game, you can get The Outdoor Stuff Pack free.
Door number two

To Geek or not to Geek……

GEEK noun \ˈgēk\

  • an enthusiast or expert especially in a technological field or Any activity

Although there are at least two other definitions for the word Geek, This is by far my favorite, simply because I think it is the more modern version. All Geeks aren't "socially inept" as one definition claimed, and I certainly have never seen one of my Geeky friends who love W.O.W double as "a carnival performer whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken" which is also a definition of my fav word "Geek".

When I was in elementary school, some of the bullies would throw that word at me as an insult, along with nerd or dork. This name calling would usually occur after I got praises form my teacher for a question I answered correctly or a homework assignment I did on time, none the less I came to hate being a geek.

So I tried to gain interest in other things, "cool" things, anything beside school work so that I can try to "fit" in. Sports, Video Games, Music, Pop culture, clothing etc., anything I would hear other kids talking about, I learned everything I possibly could about the subject( I mean to the point of OCD status). By the time I was a teenager I had no real problem conversing with anyone about anything without showing any real Geeky attributes, or that my favorite TV shows at 15 yrs old were Frasier and Seinfeld as well as Real world and American Idol. I thought I had finally escaped my geeky past.

Until one day, I was completely obsessing online in a chat room about a famous musician that I was completely in love with (I couldn't even tell you what color my walls were in my room because his posters covered every square inch of them, including the ceiling!), and then it happened, a fellow chat room participant by the name of "Lykewhateva02" called me a word I was trying to avoid for the longest time, A GEEK!!!. When I asked her why she used the word "Geek", she stated "Because anyone who like totally knows like everything about anything is like …a Geek" after pondering her clearly wise and well thought out statement it dawned on me …she …was…right!

I am a Geek and PROUD of it! I was a Gamming geek, a Music Geek, a Pc geek, a Fashion geek, a Reality TV geek, even a Kitchen geek. I am an enthusiast, an expert in some cases and absolutely happy about it.
So I politely told this young lady "thank you" (she replied "k…Whatever") and I proclaimed from that day on to gladly and with pride be known as a GEEK.

Now with this new revelation, I noticed that everyone was not as aware as me and the "like whatever" girl in the chat room, Some people would say things like "wow, I never knew a geek would know so much about {insert cool subject here}" Or "wait a minute, you like {insert cool thing here} too" and the most bizarre thing was a lot of fellow geeks and nerds didn't think I could geek out with the best of them.

So I say we need revaluation…No …a Geek-aluation, where geeks of all ages, genders, creeds, and races can come together. PC and Console, Trekkies and Jedi's, Celtics fans and Lakers fans,
Bears fans and Packers fans, fan of Pop music or a devout Metal head, Sims 2 or Sims 3 or if you love all those things and more, then please join us weekly as we Totally Geek Out about Everything and Anything, and let your Geek Flags Fly!!!
